Our Brule Hats are made from two layers Polartec® Alpha Direct® fleece. This ultralight material breaths well, dries incredibly quickly and offers exceptional loft and insulation under a hood. They are great for cool weather backpacking or winter athletics. We have three different weights of Alpha Direct® fleece (60, 90 and 120 grams per square meter) which covers the spectrum of weight and warmth. Please note there are three colors that just arrived (there are color swatches, but no sample hats yet).
Note that you can choose between our fixed or rolled band options. The fixed band is sewn in place and is two layers thick. This is the better choice for a hat to go under a helmet, or for those who like the look of a slim band over the ears - it cannot be adjusted. Alternatively, the rolled band is four layers thick and adjustable. This is the better option if you like more warmth over the ears, like to change the depth of the hat, or like the look of a thicker band.
